| Scrooge's Blog - the final entry |
|
So, this is it – Scrooge’s last blog. What can I say?! A fantastic end last night to an amazing week. I think – but am not sure – that we sold out last night as well as the matinée…a rapturous audience and a fitting end to the week. I do hope that everyone involved with the show had a good time last week. Speaking for myself, I had a whale of a time. Everyone I have spoken to who was in the audience (and reports of those I didn’t speak to) was ecstatic about the show and I think we can consider it a job very well done. We’ve thanked all those who didn’t get the audience’s applause but please allow me to repeat our sincere thanks to all those who didn’t appear on stage but without whom… I am going to mention no names (because you know what will happen)…but props, programme sellers, sound, stage crew, DSM, lighting, chaperones, wardrobe, Harlequin staff…thank you so much for making “Scrooge” possible. …and, of course to the team who have worked so hard for so long to get it to happen. Finally, to three people who I will name: Michael for managing the production back-stage and for ensuring that it all ran as smoothly as it did, Angela for directing the music (and preparing the music, getting the band together) and being a constant source of support and correction(!) and John whose vision and drive gave us a production of which we can be really proud. We will report back to club members on the show…finance, sales etc. in due course. And although I won’t be writing again on this blog, please continue to watch out on this site and ESOS’s and The Opera Club’s as there will be other stuff to come…more photos, programme notes etc. So, whether you were in the wonderful cast, crew or audience…there is only one thing I can say – or sing – “Thank You Very Much!” …and now to get off the last vestiges of that wretched eyeliner… Signing off. Bah! Humbug!! E Scrooge PS Don’t overspend this Christmas. Waste of money. PPS If you do, and find you need a loan…get in touch. (Created 29th November 2009)
